Anna Sergeyevna Kourinovova was born on 7 June 1981 in Moscow, Russian SFSR Soviet Union. She was a fervent Russian professional tennis player. At the age of 14 she became the youngest tennis player to win the Fed Cup and compete in professional tennis. At 15, she reached the U.S. Open. Then, at 16, she made her way to the Wimbledon semifinals. She had to quit professional tennis because of back pain at age 21.
